My first quilt

Bernina and I just finished our first project together! Mom and I decided to make a quick quilt for my cousin's baby since they were coming from Georgia to visit. We put this baby together in a couple of weeks (that's fast for us) and I am very pleased with the result. Even dad helped sew some strips!

It was my first quilt and it's definitely not a masterpiece, but it's got alot of love sewn into it :)

Here I am with JT...my cute little cousin who now snuggles in this quilt.

Bear Lake

It was a beautiful, chilly weekend at Bear Lake with the Armstrongs!
We saw a heebie jillion deer on our ATV ride!

Did anyone see ER last night?

Since this is the last season, they are bringing back a bunch of the old cast members to be in the last few episodes. Last night, Doug and Carol were on. Those of you that knew me way-back-when know I loved this show (Thursday nights were sacred), and seeing my old friends last night totally made my night. Dr. Benton was also on AND Susan Sarandon (not an old cast member, but one of my faves) also made an appearance. All in all, a great night.

Tackle the Tower: A Great Success!

It has been a long time since I last made a blog entry. Jess informed me that it has been many, many months. So...here we go.

This past Saturday, over 200 people took their stair climbing passion to the tallest building in Salt Lake, the Wells Fargo Center (Yes, it is taller than the LDS Church Office Building. The LDS COB is 420ft and the WFC is 422ft. The LDS COB looks taller cause it sits at a higher elevation. I had several people call to tell me I was wrong, but alas, I am not). Among these climbers were Jess, my mother-in-law, my mom, Tyler, Katie, Lisa, and Michelle.

This was our team, Slingshot. Unfortunately, I was too busy to climb with them, but Jess got a bunch of pictures during the climb.

Ground Floor: Lisa and Mom look excited to get their stair climb on.

Floor 8: Jess, Carol and Mom are looking like climbing stairs is a breeze. Only 15 more flights.

Floor 12: Just over half way. I think that they may have been feeling it in their quads at this point.

Floor 23: VICTORY! Coco has arrived.

This year's Tackle the Tower was the best the American Lung Association in Utah has ever had. We had 214 participants and raised just under $40,000 for the programs at the ALAU.
For most participants, myself included, one climb was enough. This was not so for my sister. She climbed the tower 5 times. You are a rock, Sis!
Thanks to my family and friends for putting together a team and helping my event succeed. Jessica was the team captain and she did great!
