Halloween 09

We celebrated Halloween this year as Pacman and Ms. Pacman. On Friday, we went to Billy's party. It was so much fun! When we walked in, they exclaimed, "Breeders are here!" Those boys are such a hoot. We had a great time checking out all the hilarious (and some barely there...) costumes. Some of those guys are not shy! Good times.
Then on Halloween, we went to lunch with my fam and saw Baby T in his Superman costume...so cute! I'm so mad I don't have any pictures! Then Spence carved us up a nice happy pumpkin and I made super scary ghosty lights to hang on the front porch. We got a bunch of trick-or-treaters and had a really good time passing out candy. I love seeing the kids in their costumes!

Then we went to Lena's costume party! It was fun to get caught up and stuff our faces with delicious junk food.

It's October! Time for all things scary!

We kicked off our month with a trip to the haunted house with Lady and J.

The scariest part of haunted houses for me are the people wandering around that sneak up behind you and startle you. There were lots of those people there.
J found a friend. He would get right in his face and then pretend to throw up on him.

Then we realized that he just wanted some love from J.
But J pulled the whole, "It's not you, it's me."

We had a great time and got our pants scared off of us!

Spencer portrayed Joseph Smith at This Is the Place Park this summer. N filled in as Hyrum one day and he and Spence made a great duo! They talk about their story then sing a song about being brothers. It was a pretty cool re-enactment.

Family Week

The only thing my dad wanted for his 60th birthday was to have the whole family at Bear Lake. So that's what he got! R and O and the kids flew out and surprised dad. We had little E ring the doorbell holding a sign that said "Surprise" It was classic. Dad opened the door and E said "Happy Birthday, Grandpa!" He was so surprised. The next day as we were packing up the cars to go to the lake, Z and M walked up the driveway and said "Anyone want to go to the lake?" Again, Dad was very surprised. It was great.

It was chilly and raining the first day we were at the lake, so we went up to Minnetonka Caves. It was very cool (literally!)

It started with the Desert News 10K at 6am! I was talked into running the race a few days before and I'm glad I did it! It wasn't nearly as terrible as I thought it would be and actually was kinda fun. Thanks for staying with me Lady and keeping me going! Spence took off from us slow-pokes at the beginning and was waiting for us at the finish line. Good times.

We went to dinner with the Slades at Cafe Rio...always delicious. Then we came home and did fireworks with the MCB and spouseman, Lady, and Ty.

By 6am, I was getting pretty sick of driving the van. Spence wrote me an encouraging message on the rearview.

Mac vs. PC

Why are Mac people always so arrogant? The majority of Mac users I know (not everyone) make it a point to let me know they are "Mac People." (As if I would think less of them otherwise.) Well congratulations.
I've used both Macs and PCs. I enjoy both Macs and PCs. Honestly, I will use whatever is sitting in front of me. I don't feel the need to call my friends and berate them for using a PC instead of a Mac, or vice versa.
In my experience, it is a one way street. PC users are generally friendly and accepting of both "types of users." Not so in the Mac world.
And now, to make matters worse, the Mac ads that are on TV only fuel my fire. Instead of just flaunting the good features a Mac has to offer, it points out all the bad things about PCs.
I own a PC. I feel like if I were to buy a Mac, I would have to start eating organic food, stop shopping at Target, put one of those apple stickers on my car and attend annual Mac rallys. It would have to be a total lifestyle make over.
Sorry Mac, I don't think I have the time and energy to join your team.

Catch Up

When we first looked through this house, it was still winter so the yard looked very snowy and non-interesting. Luckily, by the time we moved in, spring was in the air and a gajillion beautiful perennials began to peek up in the front yard.

Now, our garden is in full swing! Thanks to some help from Katie Did Landscaping and alot of elbow grease, we've pulled out several bushes, spread 8 yards of mulch, and planted a couple of new beauties! Here are some pics I took the other day. We planted the white peonies, and I am thrilled that they are thriving! The rest came with the house! Thank you, lady that used to live here!

I haven't blogged a ton lately because our computer is as slow as molasses on a winter day and it's excruciating to wait for blogger to load a new post. Anywho, lately we have been filling our time with many things!

Fee's baby shower was a while ago and it was a blast! Lots of yummy food and cute presents. It has taken me forever to blog about it and she actually had the baby last week! Congrats R and Fee! Go visit the cute little guy here. Seriously, one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. Here are some pics from her shower.

We also had a baby shower for my sister-in-law, H, with my family! It was an adorable shower and we are still waiting for this little one to make his entrance. Congrats J and H!
